When Ryan was 18 months old, I signed him for Julia Gabriel bilingual program, I recalled having to call months inadvance to put him on the wait list. We really enjoyed the program then with myself and Riming taking turns to keep him accompanied. The same thing I am doing for Sarah, she started the program few months ago.
This round, I do not quite like the class size. They actually combine 2 classes into 1 with 4 teachers (2 English and 2 Chinese teachers) compared to previous structure, 8 students in one class. Oh yeah, I even met my colleague's wife and child this round; we are in the same class. Both of us fed back to the teachers as we find the new structure has issues on classroom management as the group is just too big for the young age group. Alot of children have problem settling down and now I am into term 2, I realized when the kids settled, there are new ones coming and status went back like before.
The management thinks that the new structure is still better for the children. They said the weekend bilingual class is a 'taster' program.
Honestly, we definitely like the curriculum covered (same as before) and find it as interesting and fruitful for the child. Most importantly, we find that the teachers are still as great! Since myself and Riming have decided to move Sarah on to pre-nursery at the church kindergarten next year, we just need to continue with one more term till this end Nov.
